Hello, reader! I’m Lailah and I am an aspiring biomedical engineer, music lover, and avid people watcher. I love to read articles and I believe that it’s important for people to voice their opinions, so I decided to found a school newspaper named The STEM Chronicles, so students at Wake STEM Early College high school can do just that. Thank you all for reading this newspaper and making it a success.
Hi! My name is Linda Yager and I am a proud co-founder of this newspaper. I’ve always had a passion for writing and story-telling and I love to read the works of others, so this seemed like the best platform to do so. I’m not completely sure on how biographies like this are supposed to go so I’m just going to tell you a bunch of random things about myself. I am the oldest of 4 siblings, I have two sisters who are twins and a younger brother named Dillon. I was born in Denver, CO which rightfully justifies why my family is avid Denver Bronco fans (don’t come at me with insults about this season cause I’ll remind you what happened on February 7, 2016). I have a cat named Fifi, named after the potential name of Sandy in Annie, and a dog named Bronco. Yes, Bronco. I’m the kind of person who thinks everything is funny so if you find a funny joke or meme online please submit it to the GoogleForum we have linked in the weekly email because I like to laugh. I love love, love music. Not the crappy music they play on the radio today, but artists like Simon & Garfunkle, The Beatles, ABBA, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, The Lumineers, Lana Del Ray, I could go on. Not only do I like listening to music, I like playing music. My mom gave me piano lessons from when I was 6 up until the 8th grade. I also learned how to play guitar and clarinet but they’re not my favorite. As well as music, I love reading. I’ve probably read the Harry Potter series 9 times… maybe more. Harry Potter set aside, I love non-fiction or realistic fiction. I am in the midst of reading 3 books; Sophie’s World, The Physics of Immortality, and The Dancing Wu Li Masters. It used to take me about a week to finish a book, but ever since I started High School, I haven’t finished a single book. I’ve actually been reading Sophie’s World since 8th grade, but in my defense, it’s a difficult read. I can’t seem to think of a creative way to close this out, so I want to say thank you to all of our readers for helping us launch our Newspaper, I’m really excited to see what this journey yields. 🙂
